Dr. Birckhead received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Tennessee in 1981, graduating Cum Laude. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1985 from the College of Dentistry, University of Tennessee at Memphis.

In order to stay on the cutting edge of technology, Dr. Birckhead continues to take an average of 60 units of continuing education per year. Also, he has received extensive post-graduate training in porcelain veneers, posterior composites and root canal therapy.

Dr. Birckhead is a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, Nashville Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry and is also on staff at the Sumner Regional Medical Center.

In his free time, Dr. Birckhead enjoys golfing, farming, church and spending time with his wife, two children and grandchildren.
